We created an award-winning 4-part B2B video series that generated buzz about MIECO’s work — earning Gold and Silver at the 2024 Collision Awards and Bronze at the 2024 Anthem Awards — while giving voice to the people shaping the future of the internet.

Who Are the People Building a Healthier Internet?

The Mozilla Internet Ecosystem (MIECO) Program funds innovators building a healthier Internet experience. To increase awareness about the program, we created a 4-part video series that spotlights the people and standout achievements the project has supported. Each episode gave voices to the movers and shakers behind MIECO, generating buzz about their work and offering insights into their unique contributions.

The Challenge: Capturing Authentic Interviews for a Remote B2B Video Series

The work MIECO does is innovative and complex. Our primary challenge was distilling the complex topics and dense subject matter into an easily digestible format for a broad audience. To do this, we paired participant interviews with elevated visuals. However, with participants around the country, sourcing those interviews posed a challenge.

 

We ultimately deployed a sophisticated remote camera system and conducted the interviews using Riverside.fm. This approach, coupled with pre-screening questions, allowed people to capture authentic and compelling content in their own comfortable environments.

Elevating the Storytelling With Animation and Design

To infuse more energy into the stories, we worked with our partners at Good Secrets to introduce dynamic animation, a bright color palette, and Internet-inspired imagery to bring the concepts to life. Custom music composition and expertly mixed sound design completed the series, creating an exciting and inspiring look at the work MIECO is doing.

What Made the B2B Video Series Work

A great B2B video series has to do two things at once: respect the intelligence of an expert audience and stay accessible to everyone else. For MIECO, that meant turning dense, technical subject matter — open-source funding, decentralized software, a healthier internet — into four episodes anyone could enjoy.

 

Three decisions carried the series:

 

  1. A remote-first interview pipeline. With contributors spread across the country, we deployed a sophisticated remote camera system and ran interviews through Riverside.fm. Pre-screening questions let each participant capture authentic, compelling footage from their own environment, without a film crew in the room.
  2. A bright, internet-native design system. Working with our partners at Good Secrets, we built a visual language of dynamic animation, a vivid color palette, and internet-inspired imagery that brought abstract concepts to life and tied all four episodes together.
  3. Custom sound design. Original music composition and expertly mixed sound completed the series, giving it the energy and polish of broadcast-grade content.

 

The payoff was both creative and measurable: a series that met every project objective and went on to win three industry awards. It is a repeatable model for any organization that needs to make complex, mission-driven work feel human — the core promise of a well-made B2B video series.
