Carbon dioxide emissions affect the climate, but how do personal responses to local climate changes affect carbon emissions? In hot areas of the world, people need more air conditioning and less heat. The opposite applies to cooler areas. Therefore, it’s reasonable to expect a different baseline for carbon emissions from countries with extreme climates than ones with moderate weather.
