Infographic: Worst Congress for Wilderness Ever?
What has Congress done for wilderness lately? Nothing. No, really. Nothing. The 112th Congress has been the most anti-wilderness Congress in history. For the past two years, it has engaged in a steady war on wild lands. And now, in its final hours, the 112th Congress is blocking more than two dozen wilderness designation bills from reaching the House floor. If these bills do not pass before the 112th adjourns, it will become the first Congress since 1966 to fails to protect a single acre of wilderness. Which, as our graphic with The Wilderness Society points out, could make it the worst congress for wilderness ever.
